World Cup 2023: FIR filed against Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh in India

New Delhi: FIR Filed Against Australian Cricketer Mitchell Marsh

According to media reports, an activist named Pundit Keshav has filed an FIR against Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh in Delhi. The FIR is based on a picture of Marsh in which he is seen posing with his legs on the World Cup trophy. A copy of the FIR has also been sent to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding a ban on the Australian player from playing in India.

The foundation of the FIR against Marsh is the image where he is displaying his legs on the World Cup trophy. It should be noted that Australia defeated the Indian team by six wickets in the final of the One Day Cricket World Cup. The unexpected loss of the Indian team, which remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, shattered the dream of becoming world champions for millions of Indians.

Still reeling from the shock of that defeat, the image of Mitchell Marsh has added insult to injury, where he posed with legs on the World Cup trophy in a triumphant manner. This viral image has become a salt on the wounds of Indians, interpreting all-rounder’s gesture with the trophy as a mockery of India’s World Cup defeat.

Based on this, activist Pundit Keshav has filed a case against Mitchell Marsh, and the FIR has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to impose a ban on the Australian player from playing in India.
