Skyler Gisondo and Sara Sampaio Join Star-Studded Cast of ‘Superman: Legacy

The upcoming film ‘Superman: Legacy’ has expanded its ensemble with the addition of Skyler Gisondo, set to play the role of Jimmy Olsen, and Sara Sampaio, who will portray Eve Teschmacher.

Gisondo, renowned for his roles in HBO’s ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ and Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘Licorice Pizza,’ will take on the character of the young photographer at ‘The Daily Planet,’ working alongside Clark Kent and Lois Lane. The iconic role of Jimmy Olsen was first brought to life by Jack Larson in the 1950s TV show ‘Adventures of Superman,’ with subsequent portrayals by Marc McClure and Sam Huntington in later adaptations.

Sampaio, a Portuguese model, is set to play the assistant-turned-love interest of Lex Luthor, a character previously portrayed by Valerie Perrine in the Christopher Reeve films and Andrea Brooks on The CW’s series ‘Supergirl.’

The film, directed by James Gunn, marks the inaugural feature under the newly relaunched DC Studios. Gunn and co-chief Peter Safran are aiming to revitalize DC’s film and television projects following recent setbacks with films like ‘The Flash’ and ‘Shazam: Fury of the Gods.’ Before ‘Legacy’ takes the universe in a new direction, the Jason Momoa-led sequel ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ is set to hit theaters on Dec. 22.

While specific plot details for ‘Superman: Legacy’ have been kept under wraps, Safran has hinted that the story will revolve around Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing, embodying truth, justice, and the American way in a world that views kindness as old-fashioned.

Despite setbacks from the writers and actors strike, ‘Superman: Legacy’ is on track to meet its original release date of July 11, 2025. With production now back on track, the director has confirmed additional cast members, including María Gabriela de Faría as the Engineer, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, via social media.”
