Security Scare: Car Crashes into Joe Biden’s Motorcade in Delaware

In a startling incident on Sunday, a car collided with a Secret Service vehicle attached to President Joe Biden’s motorcade, creating a security scare as the President left his campaign headquarters in Delaware.

The crash, marked by a loud bang, occurred when a sedan slammed into an SUV positioned at a nearby intersection, approximately 130 feet (40 meters) from Biden. In response to the security threat, personnel swiftly rushed the President into a waiting vehicle, and he was promptly whisked away from the downtown Wilmington building.

A White House official assured that both President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are unharmed. The incident took place at around 8:09 pm (0109 GMT), as a Secret Service vehicle securing the motorcade route was struck by another vehicle in Wilmington, according to Special Agent Steve Kopek, a spokesperson for the Secret Service.

“There was no protective interest associated with this event, and the president’s motorcade departed without incident,” Kopek stated.

Pool reporters, who had gathered outside the campaign offices, witnessed the crash shortly after shouting questions to President Biden. The agents quickly reacted, surrounding the silver car with Delaware license plates and drawing weapons on the driver, who raised his hands in response.

Following the incident, reporters were swiftly ushered into the motorcade as security personnel secured the area. A staff member informed the journalists, “They’re evacuating, you guys gotta go.”

President Biden reached his family home safely without further incident. The nature of the crash and the circumstances surrounding the event are currently under investigation.
