Pakistan Army sentenced 2 retired officers to imprisonment with hard labour

Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Army has sentenced two retired officers to 12 and 14 years of imprisonment with hard labor, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the ISPR, Major (Retd) Adil Farooq Raja and Captain (Retd) Haider Raza Mehdi have been respectively sentenced to 14 and 12 years of imprisonment with hard labor on charges of attempting to instigate military personnel to mutiny, as decided by a Field General Court Martial.

According to the spokesperson of the Pakistan Army, under the imposed sentence, both retired officers have also had their ranks stripped, effective from November 21, 2023.
