Isreal and Gaza Updates: After the martyrdom of 14,000 Palestinians, a 4-day ceasefire began in Gaza

Doha: After more than 14,000 Palestinians were killed in the fighting against Hamas over a 7-week period under the pretext of an operation, Israel has agreed to a ceasefire.

According to Al Jazeera’s report, a 4-day temporary truce between Israel and Hamas has been agreed upon, during which 150 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails will be released, while the resistance organization will release 50 Zionists.

Reports suggest that a 4-day ceasefire between Hamas and Israel began at 7 a.m. on Friday in Gaza. The previous day, Majid Al-Ansari, the spokesman for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said in a press conference in Doha that the 4-day temporary ceasefire would begin at 7 a.m. local time (10 a.m. Pakistan time) on Friday.

On the same day at 4 p.m., 13 Israeli civilian prisoners will be released from Hamas captivity, including women and children, via an aid truck crossing from Rafah into Gaza. As part of the agreement, in exchange for the release of Zionist prisoners, Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails will also be set free.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that an operations room in Doha will oversee the temporary ceasefire and the release of prisoners. Qatari authorities will maintain direct contact with Israel, Hamas’ political office in Doha, and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The third party involved in the ceasefire agreement is Egypt, according to Al Jazeera. On the other hand, the Israeli Army Radio claims that in exchange for the release of 13 Zionist prisoners from Hamas captivity on Friday, the release of 39 Palestinian prisoners is expected.

Hamas has confirmed that the ceasefire with Israel will be implemented from 7 a.m. local time on Friday, lasting for four days. During the ceasefire, both parties will halt all military activities. According to Hamas, Israeli planes will be completely restricted from flying over southern Gaza, while Israeli aircraft will not fly over Gaza City and northern Gaza daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hamas states that in exchange for each Israeli prisoner, three Palestinian prisoners, including women and children, will be released. Over the course of four days, Hamas will release 50 Israeli prisoners, including women and children.

Hamas also reveals that during the ceasefire, 200 aid trucks will be permitted to enter Gaza daily, including four trucks with fuel, including cooking gas.
