Tragedy Strikes Gaza as Israeli Airstrikes Claim Lives of Al Jazeera Journalist and Aid Workers

In a tragic incident during Israeli attacks on schools in Gaza, Al Jazeera TV’s journalist Samer Abu al-Daqqa and three aid workers lost their lives. According to Al Jazeera, cameraman Samer Abu al-Daqqa and reporter Wael al-Dahdouh became the target of Israeli airstrikes while reporting from the Farhana School in Khan Yunis.

After the incident, Israeli forces hindered rescue teams from reaching the site, resulting in the severely injured cameraman Samer Abu al-Daqqa lying on the ground in critical condition for nearly six hours.

The merciless Israeli military targeted rescue workers arriving to assist the injured, leading to the death of three rescue workers.

Samer Abu al-Daqqa’s funeral and burial took place on Saturday in Khan Yunis, attended by a large gathering, including family members, friends, and colleagues.

In a statement, Hamas condemned the killing of Al Jazeera cameraman Samer Abu al-Daqqa, expressing condolences to his family. Hamas also called for holding Israel accountable for its heinous war crimes against Palestinian journalists, medical professionals, and civilians.

It is noteworthy that since October 7, during Israeli aggression along the Gaza Strip, the number of journalists killed has reached 90, while the casualties from Israeli bombings include 18,700 Palestinians killed and 51,000 injured. Hamas strongly condemns Israel’s deliberate targeting of Palestinian journalists, healthcare workers, and civilians, demanding justice for these war crimes.
