Israel destroys al-Shafa Hospital in bombings and bathes it in blood – WHO

Gaza: The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that Israel bombed Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, causing it to be drenched in blood.

According to Al Arabiya News, a United Nations and WHO team visited Al-Shifa Hospital, providing medical supplies and medications for patients. The team also assessed the damage to the hospital building.

The emergency team distributed water and food to Palestinian families taking shelter around the devastated hospital and emphasized the need for setting up additional refugee camps.

As per the WHO team, the operating theaters at Al-Shifa Hospital are currently inactive, and essential items like oxygen cylinders are unavailable.

Upon witnessing the demolished emergency section of Al-Shifa Hospital, WHO representatives stated that it appears the hospital was washed with blood after being destroyed.

The WHO team further disclosed that the hospital still has dozens of patients suffering in pain, with no pain-relieving medications available. Medical procedures are also absent.

Demanding the provision of medicine and medical staff, WHO representatives mentioned that they are compelled to transfer patients to another Arab hospital nearby.

On the other hand, leaders of resistance factions, in media statements, accused Israel of committing severe human rights violations by destroying Gaza’s largest hospital.

Meanwhile, France has once again called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, emphasizing the need for both parties to come together for dialogue as war is not a solution.

It should be noted that Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza was the largest hospital operating 24 hours, but after being heavily bombed by Israel, it is now only 20% operational.
