Escalation in Gaza: Israeli Ground Operations Result in Loss of Senior Military Figures
In a fierce response to Israeli ground operations in Gaza, over 100 personnel, including the son and nephew of the former Army Chief and current Minister of Military Affairs, have lost their lives. The ongoing conflict has seen fresh clashes with Hamas, resulting in the recent deaths of 5 soldiers, among them the former Army Chief’s nephew. Just two days prior, his son had also been killed in action.
The latest confrontation with Hamas has left 12 Israeli soldiers injured, with at least 4 in critical condition, raising concerns about an increase in casualties. Israeli ground forces entered Gaza at the end of October, initiating a series of ground operations. So far, the number of casualties on the Palestinian side, killed by Hamas, has reached 97.
In a retaliatory move, the Al-Qassam Brigades targeted a building in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, where Israeli soldiers had taken refuge, causing a significant explosion.
Meanwhile, Israel’s National Security Advisor stated that during the Gaza conflict, there have been claims of eliminating 7,000 Palestinian militants. It is noteworthy that since the onset of Israeli hostilities on October 7, the number of Palestinian casualties has exceeded 17,700, with nearly 49,000 reported injuries.
