Counterterrorism Successes Amid Sacrifices: Operations in Dera Ismail Khan

In a recent series of counterterrorism operations in Dera Ismail Khan, the security forces have reported the successful elimination of 27 terrorists while facing the sacrifice of 25 military personnel.

According to the initial reports from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), large-scale suspicious activities were observed in Dera Ismail Khan during the night between December 11 and 12. In response, security forces conducted various operations, resulting in the death of 27 terrorists.

The presence of terrorists prompted General Iqraar ul Hassan to initiate an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan, where 17 terrorists were neutralized by dismantling their hideout.

Similarly, General Iqraar ul Hassan conducted another intelligence-based operation in Kalaachi, resulting in the destruction of a terrorist hideout and the killing of four terrorists. However, during the intense exchange of fire, two Pakistani soldiers lost their lives.

On December 13, a group of six terrorists launched an attack on a security forces check post in Daraban. Although the attempt to breach the check post was effectively thwarted, two Pakistani soldiers lost their lives during the exchange of heavy gunfire.

The terrorists, attempting to breach the check post with an explosives-laden vehicle, initiated a suicide attack, resulting in the collapse of the building and multiple casualties.

ISPR reports that the slain terrorists were involved not only in attacks against security forces but also implicated in the killing of innocent civilians. During the operations, various weapons, explosives, and ammunition were recovered from the terrorists.

ISPR emphasizes ongoing counterterrorism operations to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the region. The sacrifices of our brave soldiers strengthen our resolve to eradicate the curse of terrorism from Pakistan, and our thoughts are with the families of the martyred soldiers.
