Bombing at Jewish Community Center in Canada

Ottawa: In the Canadian city of Montreal, an unidentified assailant threw an incendiary device into a Jewish community center, causing a fire in the room where multiple individuals were in a meeting, according to international news agencies.

Upon receiving reports of the attack with a bottle bomb at the Jewish Community Center, the Montreal Police requested the Fire Brigade’s assistance. More than 50 people were safely evacuated from the building.

At the time of the attack, there were around 60 people in the building, and a meeting was underway, according to the center’s security. No one was injured in the incident, but the building suffered damage. The police report that the room where the bottle bomb exploded experienced flames in curtains, walls, and doors, causing complete burning of materials. The use of firefighting equipment within the center prevented the fire from spreading to other rooms.

The Prime Minister of Canada has strongly condemned the incident in harsh terms, while the police have initiated an investigation, although no arrests have been made so far.

It’s worth noting that this is the third attack on Jews in Canada in the past month. Previously, there were shootings at two Jewish schools, and an explosive device was used in an attack on a place of worship, all occurring after the recent escalation in hostilities between Israel and Hamas.
