Azam Khan Receives Significant Fine for Attaching Palestine Sticker to Bat in National T20

Pakistani batsman Azam Khan has become embroiled in controversy during a National T20 Cup match against Lahore Blues, as social media reports suggest.

Azam Khan has received a 50% fine on his match fees for attaching a sticker of the Palestine flag to his bat.

Reports indicate that authorities have cautioned Azam Khan about a possible suspension if he continues to use the flag sticker, citing a violation of clothing and equipment regulations involving the display of unapproved logos or political messaging.

In the 2023 World Cup match against Sri Lanka, wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammed Rizwan opted to dedicate the victory to the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza.

Seizing the moment, Rizwan used X as a platform to articulate his unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

Reports indicated that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had requested Rizwan to remove the post, but he declined to comply.

Interestingly, former Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam expressed support for Gaza shortly after the team’s return to Pakistan, despite having relinquished the captaincy by then.

Cricket enthusiasts heavily criticized the board, contending that it had prevented players, particularly the captain, from posting in support of Gaza.
