A Golden Reminder from the Author
|
The day when you bear that testimony, no less than God Himself acknowledged your utterance as you vowed to submit your wholeself to Him. And, in your own volition you established a covenant to worship none other god but Him. You were prone to believe deep in you that as your God, you obey no one but Him, because He is the Most Merciful and the Most Beneficient God. In your younger days, you did obey your parents when He told you to love them both as well as to take care of them when they reach the period of old age; you hardly travel far in your youthful age, for fear of incurring His anger of abandoning them. Though they may be unlettered, but they brought you up to a station of a God-fearing and honorable man. You were conscious of your religious obligations, because you kept on to your covenant as a muslim who ought to lower down his head before his Creator. Not too long, the setting of you life changed, for your God endowed you with the luxury of life and the comfort of this world. Your life became hectic and full of enjoyment that the world has for one who possesses the wherewithal. The life after death turned dark before your eyes and the soft spot in your heart gradually congealed turning the whole into a blackstone. And, for too short a time, your faith gave in; you became so weak to fight against the animality of your ownself, and the covenant went unheard because your ears became deft, your heart was hardened and your desire became too greedy. You became incorrigible and listened to no one, but the new god who took advantage of your weaknesses; the love of fame, money and power. Your new god has turned you into a devil in the guise of a religious man. You became so eloquent in your speeches making people believe you to be their leader, when behind those beautiful words you are amassing what is due to the people. When God gave you the power to govern your people in the community, you betrayed His trust and misappropriated things enthrusted to you intended for the people and for the development of the community. And when your whims and caprices are hindered, you spare no one even the selfless poor from the tip of your trigger-happy finger. You became merciless and arrogant forgetting all about your beginning when you were nothing but a drop of sperm. My brother and sister muslim, you might have ruined yourself too long for being ignorant. Is it hard to do good through mercy and good conduct even if you have nothing to give to the poor and the needy creations of God? Is it necessary to betray someone and misappropriate things out of trust, if only to gain wealth and luxury in this world? I bet all that I have in my life that, you will surely say "NO", because I believe however brutal your way of life is now, still you have a sound mind reserved for the ultimate decision to realize that we are from Him and unto Him we are returning. Remember the parable of life is likened unto a flowing stream. For as long as there is water the stream exists and keeps on flowing. The flowing direction of the water depends upon the soil pavement that permits the water to flow. Where there's an elevated ground that blocks the flow of water, it stops until it overflows wildly into many directions where at times it causes various destructions everywhere. So be careful, the philosophy of life is deeper than the ocean to be fathomed by a layman's knowledge. And the parable of the knowledge of God is likened unto the ocean where only a drop of it was shared to all the creations. And if you possessed only an atom from that drop, just like me and all the rest, then despise not others nor be proud of your little knowledge, for in the end, neither you nor I will ever know more than we should know.
